Resident Centered Care Initiative
These training sessions focus on Resident-Centered Care (RCC), a model long-term care system that Dr. Penniman implemented at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake, Iowa. This model emphasizes maintaining residents' pre-institutional lifestyles, and it empowers and encourages long-term care health care workers to make full use of their talents and to work as members of interdisciplinary teams. The training has three components: principles of resident-centered care, activity-based cost accounting and team building. Watch for additional conferences on culture change.
